The 3 Jewels of Buddhism

Peace Supreme MoonBean on the scene. Today we gonna build on Buddhism. At the beginning the first concepts to acknowledge are the three jewels which are the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha. Before I get into the breakdown of the three jewels. I wanna say this. First I state the knowledge as it’s written then I break it down how I see it through my understanding. Some people might agree or disagree with what I’m saying but that’s Okay. As long as we building dialogue and it’s based on positivity and upliftment it’s a beautiful thing.

The first jewel is the Buddha which is the teacher, the enlightened one who teaches the way. The teacher’s responsibility is to teach righteousness and understanding. The teacher is humble and well versed in what he/she manifests. You gotta be aware and beware of false profits and people who claim to be the enlightened ones but in all reality they use the knowledge to manipulate for their own greed and lust. Also watch out for those teachers who claim to be the messiah and create a following of weak minded people to feed their narcissistic bidding and ego.

The next jewel is the Dharma. The Dharma is the teachings, the scriptures, the lessons. You have to take the Dharma seriously and be diligent with you studying. Studying the Dharma everyday will keep you on the path of the righteous way. Not only do you have to read the Dharma regularly, you have to contemplate on the Dharma to gain an understanding. For example you see how I told you the three jewels are the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha then I broke it down through my understanding. When you study the Dharma you might see it differently  in a way that benefits you at the stage of life that you're in at the time. Later on in life you might be studying the same Dharma and see new insight or see something you didn’t see before.

The third jewel is the Sangha which is the Buddhist community. This jewel is important because you wanna be around people that think and operate like you. This is what will make the journey easier and make your foundation and conviction stronger. It’s hard to build by yourself. When you are not with the people that’s striving to walk the path of the Buddha  you end up associating with folks that are opposed to the path of enlightenment then the struggle becomes very hard. You have to understand that there’s only a chosen few that seek the way. Most people love to live a life of pain and temptations. Then there’s other people who live to take advantage of those that are misled. That is why it is important for the chosen few to stick together and build.

So here’s the wrap up. The first lesson to learn when dealing with Buddhism is the three jewels which are the Buddha who is the teacher, the Dharma which are the lessons, and the Sangha which is the Buddhist community.

This is pretty simple but very powerful. These concepts are part of the foundation of Buddhism and they can be applied to all walks of life to be victorious. For example, say you want to be a computer programmer, first you have to find the right teacher. There’s plenty of unqualified teachers out there but you have to find the right one, the Buddha of computer programming. Next you have to get the lessons and study them. You can’t just read them once and think you know computer programming. You have to study the lessons everyday. The more you study the better you become. And you have to reinforce your knowledge constantly and if you want to do this as a career, studying can take a lifetime.

Next you want to be around people that are in the computer programming field. That’s what makes you stronger. It’s hard to be a computer programmer when you like to hang at the drug trap mingling with drug dealers. Those guys don't want to talk about programming and if you talk about it you might get killed.  So take the Sangha to heart, that is a very important jewel. This is where a lot of people make a misstep in life and fail. You get taught you learn then throw it all away because you hang around the wrong people.
